Great Saturday morning to you all.
Just another 12 days before Christmas celebration. Most of us celebrate Jesus daily, because we are reminded of what Jesus did for us because He came from Heaven to earth.
Read John 1:14.
This is truly a great Christmas verse. Let it soak in your spirit---"The Word (Jesus) became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth."
Sitting at the doctor's office last week, I picked up a magazine to pass time. I came across an article about Spider-man. That's the guy who got bit by a spider and he became a person who had 2-natures. He was both human and a spider. He was able to operate in both realms. And he went on to do great things for humanity and save this and that. Only one problem---Spider-man is fantasy-not real, it is make believe. The bottom line for this movie was-is-and will forever be---MONEY!!!
But we are told a story in the Bible of God who incarnate Jesus Christ. He came from Heaven and became man (human). He has 2 natures---fully God and fully human. He is God-man possessing 2 natures. Son of Man---human, and Son of God---divine.
It was not done by accident, as in spider-man, but by God's perfect plan, so He could become one of us, so He could take our sins upon himself so we could become the sons/daughters of God.
It wasn't a movie that was on the screen and 3 weeks later was put on a shelf. Some 2,000 years ago, God became man to take the penalty for our sins.
The birth and death and resurrection of Jesus is often difficult to understand because we don't understand the love of God to the degree that God demonstrated it to us. Yet, it is true.
God who is divine came to earth and became man who is human to die for our sins. Now that is LOVE.
So, as we celebrate Christmas and we unwrap all those gifts, be reminded that the greatest gift given to mankind was wrapped in swaddling clothes and if there was a Christmas tag on it---it would have said, From God---to The World.
