Good Saturday Morning Family,
First off---Don't forget that tomorrow will be our Mission's Conference Service at 10:00. Some exciting things and something new that is just for you. Come join us and celebrate the goodness of God here in Rochester and throughout the world.
I was readding in Phil. 2:3 about this attitude that just keeps on coming into people's lives including mine. This area of "Pride".
There are many scriptures that address that issue. It is obvious that God knew we would struggle with it so he reminds us of it over and over.
The main probable with PRIDE is its middle letter---"I". It is troublesome for most of us if not all.
Paul says to us, "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, RATHER, in humility value others above yourself." WOW!!!!
We need to be very careful about this attitude of pride. It promises to destroy you.
You read James 3:16, Gal. 5:19-21 and you will read the same thing about pride. It's a KILLER!!!
Pride will lead you into all kinds of relational discord. Could it be the last argument you had with someone, got ugly because of pride. You wouldn't let it go, or your way had to be done. You had to have the last word.
Pride never leaves a good ending. Hurts, and pain are pride's results. Even if you win, you lose!
If you are married and an argument ensues, it is pride let says ---go to bed with it unresolved.
God hates a prideful spirit. It is destructive. Never let pride win.
If you want to be happy in your relationships, don't let pride have its way. Never let PRIDE be your GUIDE!!!
Pastor G
See you all tomorrow.
